Robert D. Gholson

Robert D. Gholson is a shareholder with Gholson Burson Entrekin & Orr, P.A.  Mr. Gholson focuses his practice in the areas of insurance defense, personal injury, workers compensation, medical malpractice defense, federal litigation, products liability, consumer finance litigation, and pharmaceutical and medical device litigation.

Mr. Gholson has served as a Judge in the Mississippi Court of Military Appeals since 1996.  From 1988-1996, he was a Major in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the Mississippi Army National Guard.  Mr. Gholson is a member of the Jones County Bar Association, the Defense Research and Trial Lawyers Association, and the International Association of Defense Counsel.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association.

Mr. Gholson has received an "AV" peer review rating from Martindale Hubbell, the national directory of attorneys.  This is the highest possible rating, indicating preeminent legal ability and the utmost ethical standards.  He received his Bachelor of Public Administration degree from the University of Mississippi and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law.  He was admitted to practice in the State of Mississippi in 1981.  He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

In addition to his extensive litigation practice, Mr. Gholson has had the honor of being selected by numerous trial judges in Mississippi as a Special Master. These duties include administering a docket of hundreds of asbestos claims for the past decade, as well as ruling on various pretrial disputes in other types of cases. Mr. Gholson has also served as a special judge in the Moot Court competition finals at the University of Mississippi School of Law.

In his personal life, Mr. Gholson is an active supporter of organ donation and the American Kidney Fund, as well as Young Life. He is married, and the father of 2 daughters.
